Alternative Press is an american music magazine which provides its readers with band interviews, photos, information on upcoming releases, and music charts. The magazine was founded in 1985 by Mike Shea. The first issue of Alternative Press was just a photocopied fan magazine, which was handed out at concerts by the founder, Mike Shea. The target audience for the Alternative Press magazine seems to be teenagers and young adults, aged 15-30. Also it seems that the magazine is aimed more towards males rather than females because of the color scheme used within the magazine. The genre of music this magazine focuses on is all alternative, rock/pop music form groups such as Paramore, Fall Out Boy, The Used, etc. The types of people that would normally associate with these groups are young adults. Which is helpful when your trying to determine the target audience.
